Where did you grow up?

I’m an east coast gal (upstate NY), west coast convert

It is Friday night - beer, wine, cocktail, or fresh pressed juice?

My west coast self is going with a hard kombucha, but my east coast self is grabbing a cucumber gin concoction

If you had one last meal, what would you eat?

Cheese. Anything with cheese.

Do you have a favorite movie or actor/actress?

I don’t have any favorites but I’ll noodle on it and come back to this one

Spoiler alert: She did not come back to this one..

You are stuck in LA traffic - what music are you playing to pass the time?

Anything that I can sing along to!

What first got you into fitness as a lifestyle and career?

I discovered group fitness classes in my 20s and immediately felt empowered by the support of the community and the power of a shared experience. Growing up active but not involved in sports, I didn’t see myself as an “athlete” or part of the fitness world. Once I found group fitness, it felt like I was at home and I have been hooked ever since!

What is one of your favorite fitness moments so far in life?

For myself, completing a half marathon. I did this just as I was building my confidence in fitness. In years prior, I never would’ve thought I’d be able to accomplish this or even want to.

As a coach, it was when my best friends mom called to let me know that she was had been practicing sprawls and burpees so that she could do them in my class and she was seeing such a difference in her confidence and body. Fitness has no limits or age on it and seeing the small moments of progress along the way is so rewarding!

What is your favorite and least favorite exercise?

Least Favorite: Thrusters. I love squats and I love overhead presses. Put them together, torture.
Favorite: Burpees (sorry! ☺)

What is one of your favorite inspirational quotes?

“Believe you can and you're halfway there.” – Teddy Roosevelt

What does the word "Sanctuary" mean to you?

Sanctuary is a space, an action, a person, a mindset, a home. Sanctuary allows you to feel safe, to recharge, to find peace, to feel growth, and to feel the arms of community. It is where you feel like your whole, true self.
